New York, NY, May 25, 2012 — Andrew Yes honorary curator designer of the first BOFFO Show House, located at 371 Madison Street in the Lower East Side open daily from 11-7 until June 4, featuring four unique duplex apartments re-appropriated as interior exhibition spaces each specialized for the themes of Work, Play, Nature and Future.
The first BOFFO Show House is a universe of internationally procured furniture, lighting, art, mixed media, floral design, video, and architecture with vivid color and fragrances displayed in a dramatic environment. Guests are invited to fully immerse and explore each unique environment. Every room is filled with talent from around the globe.
BOFFO enlisted Yes to make selections from the call for submissions, work on large-scale collaborations with featured brands, and display art and design pieces from the Andrew Yes collection. The main objective of the show house is to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing artists together to build an immersive space inspiring creativity and foster lasting relationships between artists, brands and patrons.
Andrew Yes developed out of a personal need and expanded into a passion for creating one-of-a-kind sculpture, furniture and light pieces with made to measure home fashion accessories. “Insperation for designing and curating is driven by stimulating sensations, mixing all the fascets of creativiy. It all comes together like a rap song.” as Yes describes personal ideology behind the collection.
Items from the Andrew Yes collection on display at the Show House include, the Fossil Table made from steel and marble containing 400 million year old fossil cousins of the squid, a silica sculpture garden titled Coral Grotto made from ethically farmed corals semi-precious stones, lava rock, shells and crystals. Galactic Pillow Ball sets formed with hand-selected fabrics including Indonesian batik, Maharam De-constructed rose Tapestry Pillow Balls , and Cat Eye Pillow Balls, French Linen, and Stripe Pillow Ball styes.
